This is a card from last week, didn't think I made a picture but apparently I did.
The tree has flowersoft on it, and the church is stamped twice and popped up.

A cased shaker card

My first shaker card, or I think it is, I bought those handy things, don't know how you call them but they make it very easy to make a shaker card. Oh and the idea of the card is not mine, I have made a few changes and I am happy with it.

More Penny Black

Another Penny Black card, it's getting boring, I know, and yes, coloured again with the

prismacolour pencils and Gamsol. I didn't really know that Gamsol was a very dangerous liquid but apparently it is.I did take a sniff, pfff!

The ribbon looks a different colour than IRL. This card will go to a friend with a meal for her and her family, she just had surgery so we need to spoil her.

Cute Penny Black

Stepping out of my box, trying to, I love the stamps from Penny Black, I have some sets, and most of them are not even inked up yet......Since I have so much fun colouring (very relaxing and keeping me out of trouble) with Tombo's and Prismacolour pencils I am drawn to those sets more and more. This card is done with the pencils. I had to put the (boring) gray on the card other wise it was too much for me LOL, and now I am quite pleased with the card. Again a few stickles, some ribbon and a couple of flowers and no sentiment.

Clearly Inspired Challenge 2

For the Clearly Inspired Challenge 2 , www.clearyistamp.typepad.com, I have made this card.
The stamps are from Clear Dollar Stamps, www.cleardollarstamps.com, and I have used my prismacolour pencils with Gamsol.
I am so happy with those pencils, they work like a charm! I even did some shadowing, not sure if you can see it in the picture.
The sketch was given for the challenge, I changed it to suit my image, the bow just fitted better on the left than on the right and the challenge said no stress so that's what I did LOL!
Oh and I didn't put a sentiment on the card....now I can use it for whatever occasion. And of course some stickles had to be on the flowers.
I think my creative juices are back.......a little bit of shopping just works wonders!

Masculine cards

Masculine cards is what I need at the moment. I had a great plan to make about 6 cards for a man who is going through some very serious illness and treatment. From a bookstudy I am learning that it's great to have good intentions but with no action it means nothing. All the things we need to hear sometimes! So I have 3 done, the first one is sent out, sorry no picture, and this is the second one. I hope and pray that things will go well.

Also all the men in my life seem to have birthdays around this time!

One of my sons had one last week, he got the airplane card and another one has a birthday next week. So I am trying.......

This is also a busy time in our household since my DH and I are going on a short trip to see family in Holland and all the usual stuff......I am sure you don't want to hear about this.....we all have busy lives.

Friendship card

The picture is a little dark, sorry, it's still dark in the house when I am taking it's hard to make a good one.

This card is for one of our friends from Friendship who is moving away to be closer to her family and we are gonna miss her!

She is such a sweet girl. So last night we said goodbye, gave her this card, had cake and special music, a wonderful night.

I am very thankful for the Friendship program in our lives!

Gift card holder

This gift card holder has a lot of layers....I did this one at the last class I did for SGD.
I love this green with the bright red, it's a single pocket card which I kind of adapted a little bit.
Today I got a lot of Christmas cards done, it's too dark to take pictures but I will do that tomorrow.

CAS, cased Christmas card

I saw this card on Splitcoast several times, different colours and ribbon but the same concept and I really like it. Such a clean and simple card and so easy to make. I didn't even add stickles though I was tempted, LOL!

My plan this year is to make some Christmas cards, and really enjoy it, and the rest will come out of a box, nothing wrong with that, right?

That's what I keep telling myself, we'll see what happens.

Heidi among the flowers!

Here is Heidi, among the flowers! Isn't she cute?
I have coloured this image with Prismacolour pencils and added lots of bling because it's for somebody who deserves lots of bling!
I am pretty sure she is not sitting between flowers today but I certainly hope she has a great day!
The background is done with the CB dots embossing folder and then I sanded it very carefully so that the dots show white.

Sympathy card

It's been a week since I have posted.....not that I haven't stamped just haven't gotten around to post some cards. This is a simple sympathy card, one of the cards we have used to put in a package for the foodbank. Once a year I help out at a local church were we make card packages for the foodbank. Very nice idea, I think.

Today I am hoping to make some Christmas cards...............it looks like it's gonna snow, but I certainly hope that I am completeley wrong. I really don't need that to get in the mood for Christmas cards! I have more cards to share but I can't show them yet.... they are for people who come and visit here.

Purrfect day!

After a couple of "purrfect" days, scrapbooking that is, I am back in to cardmaking!

Last week was a busy week, getting ready for a weekend of scrapbooking, teaching a class at SGD, a date with my husband........lots of fun and laughter!

Today I made this card for a special young lady who has a birthday coming up.

I have used a stampset from Penny Black and coloured it with my Prismacolour pencils, and I have to say, I like my colouring. It's most likely not perfect but those pencils are so nice to work with.

My other pink card

This was the first card I made for CDSWCC think pink, but after it was done I realized that I didn't really follow the "instructions" so...........
The flowers are coloured with Prisma colour pencils, they work really nice, I had tried a few before and last week I bought the whole set, yes, all 120 of them! I feel like a little girl back in Kindergarden with a new box of pencils LOL!

A quick thank you card made with the rest of the dp I had used in the card from yesterday. The little gemstones were the finishing touch, I thought.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!!
I can't believe it's been a week with no stamping for me....
so I am very happy that today I had a chance to stamp. It's almost time to turn the oven on and start preparing our Thanksgiving meal, we do it today because tomorrow the beans might come of and boys have to go back to college....too busy. I have to admit that I don't really do a turkey, those things scare me, really they do, so thankfully M&M is there to help me out.

I haven't used a lot of more mustard but it's there and for the silver you have to look at the embossing and the brads. The set used is called: Thankful for you, very fitting for this weekend.
The flowers are coloured with twinkling H2O's so they sparkle nice but it's hard to see in the picture.

This weekend we have our annual Fair and between the boys' involvement in 4H, my DH a director for the fair and the cold and rainy weather.....there is no stamping time and that on National Card Making Day! So tonight was my only chance to stamp, and since I am so tired my eyes are in need of a pair of reading glasses and they were upstairs.....
Enough complaining, we did have lots of fun today, and my card.... does look better IRL with all the stickles and that's all I have to say about it, LOL!

Yesterday when I looked up the challenge, I put some pieces of cardstock with those colours together and thought, wow, that's a nice combo. Sage shadow, apricot , close to cocoa, really rust and neutral. Making the card was a lot harder, but I did it. The flowers have crystal effects on them, hard to see in the picture.

I can't remember the last time I have used apricot and sage shadow is also a colour that I don't use a lot, so it's nice that those challenges let you do something out of your own box.

MOJO105, welcome baby

Mojo Monday 105, wow, an interesting sketch, I think.
It's nice to be in the cool basement and stamp, it's just ....really hot here.
After some time this is what I came up with, the patchwork elephant is from Clear Dollar Stamps, can you tell I got my order in? The sentiment from Stamping Up. The elephant is watercoloured with Tombo's, it took me so long to learn to do so but I am happy that I kept trying, it's a lot easier now.
Of course I also had to add some bling and stickles.
I kind of cheated because I did turn the image, hope that's okay.

Hello!

Hello, it's me again, my second card for today.
When I saw this set I A-door You from Clear Dollar Stamps, I knew that I wanted it (surprise LOL) and what I was gonna do with it.

So this is what I came up with, I have used my Art Impressions stamps with it. All done on watercolour paper and Tombo's and Stickles for the finishing touch.

Casing myself!

I was playing with the left overs on my desk and kind off cased myself,

the peony flower is watercoloured like the one on the other card and then I put glossy accents on it. After it was dry, I cut it out and put the card together. There is no sentiment on this one and it will go in my box.

The picture for the first card was made using my photo tent and the picture for this one I took in front of the window.....wow, I can't believe how much difference there is in colour since I know for sure the pieces of paper came from the same sheet.

Splitcoasts Sketch Challenge 245

It's been a while that I did a sketch challenge from Splitcoast but yesterday was the day. My pc didn't want to upload yesterday, I'll tell you that thing has a mind of his own sometimes.
I have used one of my favourite SU stamps, both way blossoms and some Heidi Grace paper.
The ribbon is folded twice, hard to see in the picture.
I had my card finished and then I was gonna put some Chrystal effects on the flowers............well, sometimes nothing comes out of the bottle and you have to use your special tricks to get it out....
not this time.........my card was ruined! Grrr! So I started again and I only used stickles this time.

A red tractor on the farm....

No, not on our farm, our tractors are green and that's not gonna change anytime soon, men are about tractors as we are about stamps...they know what they want LOL!
But this cute tractor is from Clear Dollar Stamps, I own this set for a while already but I had never inked it up.
The grass is just a piece of green paper and I used sciccors to cut it like this. The little bird and chicken are stamped, cut out and put on dimensionals. Of course I had to add two punched flowers and some bling with the rhinostones and gel pens.

Matching the ribbon

Before I could sit down and make a card I had to clean up my craft area, the mess was unbelievable.
I picked this ribbon from my fairly big ribbon collection, hmm, and I matched the colours. The rest is pretty simple and the bow is made with the very helpful bow easy.

Colour core cardstock

This card has a CB background and I have used colour core cardstock for that, after I put it through the CB I ran a piece of sandpaper over it.
It's another card for my box, since I have sold a lot of cards I need to fill the box up again, so much fun!

I have some stamps from this lovely company and I really like them, so I thought I give the challenge a try.

The sets I have used are Birthday Wishes and Charlie Daisy.

Charlie is watercoloured with Tombo markers, the flowers and the butterfly have some yellow stickles on them, the ribbon is from my stash, and I have used Labels 5 and 2 Cuttlebug embossing folders, the dots and the branches.

Happy Anniversary!

My day started early today, I went to the dentist already, laundry is on the line, bathrooms are clean and it's only 10 o'clock. Maybe I get some stamping time today.
This is an anniversary card to go into my box. I have used rose red, vanilla, chocolate chip brown, kraft and some pink ribbon, oh and bravo burgundy and kraft ink.

Happy birthday, Laurens!

Yesterday our youngest son turned 12. Wow, I can't believe how time flies...........it seems like yesterday.

We have a dirtbike, almost just like this one, and the boys love riding it on our farm. They have been trying to get us to trade it in for a bigger one but since we had a few emergency visits this summer I think I am winning this time and things are not gonna change.

So he got the WII sport resort game for his birthday, hopefully nobody gets hurt playing this, but they are boys and you never know........

Fun with alcohol..........ink

No, I didn't pick up drinking. Although, after this second computer crash in the past 2 months you would almost think about it.

Anyway, we are back in business.

This card has another alcohol ink background and a stamped image on acetate. So simple to do and what a great effect.

I am trying to upload more pictures but for one or another reason they are turned the wrong way, have to figure it out first.

It's an alcohol background again with a stamped piece of acetate on top. I made a similar one for another lady who turned 50 but it doesn't upload properly.

Alcohol ink background

Just playing with my alcohol inks for a bit and turned it into a card.
I am doing something very boring...I am listing all my stamps.....stamping them set by set and label them, so that I can look through a binder a see what I have...hmmm...........one binder?
I have started this a while ago but now I am convinced that I need to finish. After that I would like to list them alphabetically......
but that may be too much. We'll see.

Bright mail

Bright colours for this card. This is the first time I am using my new
lighthouse stamp and watercoloured it with Tombo's.
It's for a teenage boy..........boy, what do you make for them?
Anyway, this is the card. I am not sure about all the bright colours but I am happy with my watercolouring. After trying many different papers, I think I have found the one that works for me.

Stair case card

It's easy, very easy!

I needed a card for a friend's 40 th birthday, can't believe I have friends that old LOL, and since I don't really make "funny" cards this is something in between. It has flowers, bling and ribbon and the sentiment gives it the "funny" thing. It says on the first scalloped circle : another birthday? and then on the smaller one:

I hope you have enough oxygen to blow out the candles.

My mojo seems to be gone after I made this card, yesterday I stayed in the cool basement because it was so hot and humid but nothing really came out of my hands.

I should have made another stair case card.

Not sure about this one.............

I am not sure about this card, it's one of those you think, oh....

it's kind of okay.

It doesn't help that the picture isn't the greatest, but it is as it is.

The fishes are cut out after I brayered a piece of shiny paper and stamped the stamp on it. They also have crystel effects on them.

I am putting it in my box and we'll see what happens.

You know I love flowers.......

The younger boys are still sleeping, the "bigger" men are working hard, and I ...... I am enjoying myself.

If I sit down to make a card for no particular reason....when you just have time to play, not very often but it happens, usually I grab a flower stamp, because I love them.

This purple card has a Dutch sentiment, it shows up way better IRL. The little bow is made with the fabulous bow maker, such a handy tool.

The card on the left is another silhouette stamp from Morningstar, another new one for me.

I like the blue with the grey and white together.

So that's it for today, 3 cards to share, I can't believe it.

Country look

This is one of the new stamps I got last week, I bought just the rubber and put it on EZ mount. There was a really good deal on, it's a bit of work but so worth it.
There is a little bit of stickles on the card, if you click on it you see it better.
Masculine cards are hard but I was happy with this one.
The house is still quiet here even though it's already past 9 o'clock,
I am enjoying this with a cup of coffee, I will post 2 other cards I made this week if my camera is up to it.

Something to share.........

It's been ages since I have posted a card. Vacation, summer fun, life.....

it's summer and we are enjoying it!

For us the camping trips are over for now and I am slowly trying to get some sort of routing in this household. Yesterday I took the time to stamp and play with some new goodies I got at the stamping convention in Novi

So much fun and so many things to look at. I got lots of new ideas going through my head. So here is one of them, a baby card with my new onesi stamp.

Art's impressions card

Here is one of the Art Impressions card I have made.

I took a class recently and we learned this technique.

It's watercolouring with Tombo's and you build the scene with all the little stamps from Art Impressions. It was fun to learn.

No surprises here, another simple card. You can tell that I don't have a lot of stamping time. We are enjoying the summer break and there is no routine here at all. I am sure that when fall comes, we'll be ready for routine. I know I will be.

Finally some time to update this blog. Life has been crazy here.
One of the boys had a pretty hard fall with the dirt bike on Monday and kept us in emerge for half the day, now there are follow up appointments and dressings to be changed. He was one lucky boy. He will be fine but sore for a while.
I made this card a while ago and haven't posted it yet. It's pretty basic and very easy to make.

Eindelijk eens tijd om wat op mijn blog te zetten. Het is hier gewoon een gekkenhuis.
Een van de jongens is maandag behoorlijk hard gevallen met de dirt bike op asfalt dus hebben we maandag middag heel de middag in het ziekenhuis gezeten. Nu hebben we nog een vervolg afspraak en moet het verband regelmatig verschoond worden. Alles komt goed, hij zal alleen wel een tijdje niet zo comfortabel zijn. Hij heeft heel veel geluk gehad.
Deze kaart heb ik een tijdje geleden al gemaakt, simpel en snel.

Glimmer mist.....

I was going through some stuff and came across a bottle of glimmer mist. Hope I am not the only one who sees something, buys it and forget all about it.... Ihad to read the instructions to know what to do with this bottle.

Anyway, I used it on the mellow moss paper for the background, hard to see in the picture, and then I finished the card with one of my crocheted (right spelling?) flowers. If you click on the picture, you can take a closer look.

A blanc card for my box, I think it's a bit to "sweet" but you never know when you need one of those.

In de kast stond een flesje glimmermist, je weet wel, soms koop je iets en dan vergeet je het te gebruiken. Ik moest eerst de beschrijving lezen hoe het ook alweer was.

Ik heb het gebruikt op de mellow moss achtergrond, moeilijk te zien in de foto. Als je op de foto klikt wordt het beter.

Kaartje afgemaakt met een gehaakte bloem, het is een beetje een "zoete" kaart, maar ja je weet maar nooit wanneer je die eens nodig hebt.

Exciting news!!

Last night I found out that I have won the 2nd prize for the RR June challenge at the Rubberroom, and this is the card I made. You can check it out here, http://www.rubberroom.ca.

For the challenge you had to make a card with this cute little pig from High Hopes, they give you 2 stamped images to work with, and you had to use a border. As soon as I saw the pig I knew what kind of border I wanted to use. The image is watercoloured with Tombo's and the background is sponged on. The pig is cut out so I could make the background and make it look like it was behind the fence.

It was a fun card to make and I am excited that I won a gift certificate for the store!

So with this card I am sending smiles to all of you!!

Gisteren avond kreeg ik een telefoontje dat ik de tweede prijs heb gewonnen van een challenge van een stampstore in London, http://www.rubberroom.ca/

Dit is de kaart die ik had ingestuurd. De challenge was dat je een border moest gebruiken en we kregen 2 gestempelde varkentjes. Ik heb het varkentje gekleurd met Tombo's en uitgeknipt, de achtergrond heb ik gemaakt door eerst wat blauwe inkt aan te brengen met een sponsje en dan de bloemetjes gestempeld.

Het sentiment is: sending you smiles! en dat doe ik dan bij deze, groetjes en een fijne dag, Anja

Watercoloured flower pot.

This was such a fun card to make, first you stamp the flower pot, the green leaves and then the flowers. I have coloured directly on the stamps with Tombo's.

Deze kaart heb ik gemaakt met Art Impressions stamps. Eerst stempel je de bloempot, dan het blad en als laatste de bloemen. Je kleurt met je Tombo's op de stempel. Daarna kun je de kleuren een beetje laten uitlopen met een penceeltje en wat water.

Pretty flowers

I am quite happy with the way this card turned out. It took me a while to put all the rhinestones in the middle of the flowers but it was worth it.
The flowers are stamped with black stazon on glossy paper, for the background I used a little sponge to put on some wasabi and light purple ink. So easy!

Het duurde een tijdje voordat deze kaart af was, zoveel kleine glittersteentjes in het midden van de bloemetjes maar het was de moeite wel waard.
De bloemen heb ik met zwarte watervaste inkt gestempeld op glimmend papier daarna heb ik met een klein sponsje wat lila en groene inkt aangebracht. Heel simpel. Lintje en een randje, klaar!

Get well soon card for a little girl

We're back from camping. It was lots of fun and the weather was pretty good.

Thankful to be in a trailer when it was raining........

The laundry is done so I went down to my stamproom yesterday to make this card.

It's for a little girl who isn't feeling good, the doctors have ruled out all the scary stuff and they are waiting for the results of the coeliakie test, hopefully with the right diet she'll be feeling better soon.

I coloured the girl with my pencils and have used some Gamsol.

Going camping

Father's day card

The sun is shining and it's beautiful outside so when I woke up early I made us coffee and enjoyed a very quiet start of the day on the deck. Now the washer is filled and I can almost hang the clothes outside.
This card was for Father's day, from the boys and me, all in one card. It has a nice verse on the inside and we all wrote something for him.

I am back to stamping!
We had a great time with friends and I hate to say goodbye but that's part of our life.
So I did my little cry and now we are getting back in our routine, kind of, summerbreak starts tomorrow. The kids are really excited! And I, I am not ready at all. Next week we are going camping and the trailer is still in the shed. So that's my plan for this afternoon, trying to get things ready. But first I wanted to post something.
This is a thank you card for one of the teachers. When I saw those crocheted flowers I just had to make some. I can actually crochet, I didn't even need a pattern!
I have made another one but I can't get it uploaded in the right direction.

Time to enjoy

No card to share today and probably not the rest of the week...we are having a really good time with friends from Holland. So good to see each other! All we do is talk and talk some more, go out, fishing with the kids, some shopping,playing games, enjoying good food and the company.

Deze kaart is voor Sharon's challenge, je moest bloemen gebruiken.

Dat was niet moeilijk, ik heb heel veel bloemen stempels en de meeste kaarten die ik maak hebben wel een of andere bloem.

De foto is niet zo goed, de kleuren zijn in het echt veel mooier als je op de foto klikt' zie je het wel iets beter.

Nu ga ik naar buiten, de zon schijnt heerlijk en de ramen moeten gelapt!

I have combined some ideas from other people and made it my own.

Somebody ordered some cards for wedding showers so I started making a few.

This one is very pink but I like it. The butterfly is from Cuttlebug, cut out and embossed.

Ik was gevraagd om een paar kaarten te maken voor een wedding shower, als je gaat trouwen hier krijg je meestal van tevoren verschillende "showers" waar je dan cadeautjes krijgt en een gezellig samenzijn.

Deze kaart is erg roze. De vlinder is gemaakt met de CB, gepuncht en embossed.

Another baby card but I have to say that the picture isn't the greatest.

Maybe I should try again... There are some stickles on the bubbles and the baby in the bath tub is coloured with a blender pen and ink pads.

More Inkadinkadoo flowers.....

I have used this flower before and have put the little bow in the same spot but the colours are different and the layout too.

There is a whole bunch of watercoloured images on my desk from practising so now I am turning some of those into cards.

Now surprises..........lots of flowers. You would think since I love flowers so much for stamping that I would be into gardening too.

Now that might be a surprise.........I don't like gardening at all!

Really dislike it, to me it's just more work that needs to be done.........good thing my DH loves to do it. And the boys can cut the grass. So it all works out!

Deze bloem van Inkadinkadoo heb ik pas nog gebruikt met het strikje op dezelfde plek.

De kleuren zijn alleen anders en de layout van de kaart ook.

Ik heb zo zitten oefenen om goed te leren watercolouren met Tombo's dat er een heleboel dingen op mijn werktafel liggen en nu ben ik daar kaarten mee aan het maken.

Geen verrassingen.......veel bloemen. Je zou denken dat ik ook van tuinieren hou, maar dat is absoluut niet zo. Gelukkig dat DH daar wel van houdt en de jongens kunnen mooi het gras maaien. Prima toch!

Penny Black mice

Those 2 cute little mice were watercoloured with Tombo's, that's what I am doing a lot as you may have noticed, and made into an anniversary card.

There is a little bit of glitter around the flower, hard to see in the picture.
